SEO process for C-MTI website 2021

In this article, I will share with you the SEO process that I often share with students at my SEO training course and have very positive results from the students.
So today I will share with you the SEO process that C-MTI is applying very effectively in 2021. Now let’s get started!

Step 1: Build a set of SEO keywords

I usually start an SEO project with keyword research, because the activities of search engine optimization revolve around keywords.
If you choose the wrong keywords, you may end up choosing the wrong keywords with high competition and the competition is too strong, so at the moment you are not competitive enough. Or sometimes you choose keywords that have too few searches, this does not bring business efficiency but consumes a lot of your resources.
To find SEO keywords, you can rely on your understanding of the industry or product you want to do. Or you can also use the Google autocomplete tool (Google Suggest) to get suggestions about related keywords.
You enter keywords in the Google search box and Google will return a list of related keywords (see image below).
Google autocomplete keyword suggestion function
Suggested keywords are often great keywords because these are user-searched keywords and are suggested by Google itself.
In addition, you can also check at the bottom of the search results page to see the related searches and can refer to other suggested keywords.
Other suggested keywords
Usually you will get a lot of new keywords and these tend to be longer keywords, and have less competition than short keywords.
However, these long-tail keywords have quite low search volume and so you can SEO to TOP faster.
If you want to check search traffic and determine how competitive those keywords are, you can use the tools below:
  • Google Keywords Planner
  • Keywordtool
  • Ubersuggest
  • SEMrush
Try to search and select some related keywords and continue to step 2.

Step 2: Analyze the 10 results on the first page of Google

You’ve got some keywords from step 1, now it’s time to type them in the Google search bar and start researching the first 10 results on the SERP.
For example, in the image above, I did an seo plan query and noticed that the websites returned quite a few different topics. But the most prominent are still some articles that are edited in the direction of a list / SEO planning steps.
To get a deeper understanding of what my competitors are offering, I keep going through the results to read each article carefully. After reading carefully, I have somewhat realized what information this SEO plan topic has been mentioned and also realized there is some information that I could better share.
At this point I was able to write the article but to make sure I was editing a quality content I continued to step 3.

Step 3: Optimize search intent

Search intent has long been one of Google’s important ranking signals. For SEO to succeed in the following years, you certainly cannot help but learn about this concept.
Imagine that in the past, website managers used to spend time writing a lot of content to correspond to keywords that needed SEO. This method is actually very effective, but it also comes with certain risks such as:
There are too many articles about the same topic while that topic is almost unchanged. From here comes the duplication of content on their website.
Although website managers also try to implement techniques such as optimizing internal links, or using canonical tags for those articles, they still cannot help the website occupy a high position on the rankings of the website. Google.
Search intent was born as a technique to help us better understand the user’s search intent so that we can create more relevant articles that satisfy the user’s search needs.
Basically users have the following search intents:
  • Look for information
  • Purchase search
  • Search navigation
By understanding the exact intent of your users, you can create great content.

Step 4: Create more quality content

Content is always the most important thing for any website. When it comes to creating quality content, you can choose from the following:
  • More featured content
  • Different content

Create more outstanding content

All you need to do is make your content many times better than it is available.
For example: Suppose you need SEO keywords: “how to optimize title tags”, and on the search results, there are about 10-15 optimal ways. So if you’re creating articles with about 20 or 30 optimizations right now, nothing seems to stand out. And certainly to have a high position you need to do many other SEO ways to push TOP this keyword.
So to stand out more you can create articles with hundreds of ways to optimize the title. If you do so, you will definitely create an extremely outstanding content.
Or alternatively, you can still create a list of 20 best headlines but a collection of the top 20 experts. Writing styles like these will definitely help you to stand out from the competition.

Create different content

Remember that we are always eager to receive new and better information than what is already available. And Google certainly does too, if you can create better and completely different content from what is available you can definitely get a high position on the search results table.
I can also SEO this keyword with the topic of SEO plan template because this is also the search intent that users are quite interested in. However, in the past I have found that just providing such content is enough to rank well.
Of course, to be different, I can also create articles with the topic of 6-month – 12-month SEO plan, or overall SEO plan or SEO plan for each different field,
I ended up choosing a quality theme that is the most general.
Specifically, with an example of an SEO planning query, I created an article: “SEO Planning: A Guide from A – Z” article with more than 14 steps.
In the future, maybe I will update the content of the SEO plan template file or the SEO plan in stages 1 – 3 months, 6 months and 12 months… Certainly with such content organization. I have created content that surpasses all existing content.
Do you like such content?

Step 5: On-page optimization

On-page SEO is an extremely important step to optimize content as well as keywords that need SEO.

Optimize internal links

Internal links are links back and forth in your website, creating links in articles will help Googlebot index and understand all the pages on your website.
In the webmaster guide Google also recommends that we use internal links for better SEO optimization.
In the process of optimizing internal links, pay attention to how to place anchor text to suit the context. Optimizing contextual anchor texts will make it easier for users to click on those links, and Google will realize you’re creating a website with really useful information.

Optimizing short URLs and keywords

From my early days as SEO, I noticed that Google seems to love short URLs. Specifically, the length of the links on Blogspot is usually less than 70 characters.
Or Google also provides technical requirements on breadcrumb optimization for website developers to optimize displaying URLs on search results.

Optimizing semantic keywords

One of the important techniques of on-page SEO is semantic keyword optimization. In another article, I will share with you more in-depth about semantic keywords (LSI Keyword).
One of the ways to find creative and smart semantic keywords is to use Google tools.
First you can enter keywords and search on Google normally, then you scroll down and see the keywords in the related search terms section.
Or can you do a query on Google images and see the suggested Google phrases related to the topic you are trying to SEO? Note that this search method sometimes does not work.
After finding related keywords, you should cleverly mention them in the article instead of just focusing on a single keyword. This will help Google understand the topic you are talking about and increase the likelihood of your website being TOP.

Structured data optimization

Nowadays, Google is quite prioritizing displaying useful content, you can see a lot of content has beautiful and eye-catching display formats. Take the time to research and optimize your content according to Google’s technical requirements. Chances are you’ll have a chance to get great results.
If you want to learn right away, you can check out the structured data content at Google’s blog. About this structured data optimization technique I will share with you in more depth in another article.

Step 6: Beautify the article

A poorly designed content will be difficult to create sympathy for the reader. Imagine visiting a web page and seeing a text full of text and a format that is difficult to read.
That’s why I spend a lot of time re-optimizing the website and presenting the article in an eye-catching way with well-invested images.
Here are some beauty tips that I use often

Use screenshots

You may have noticed that I often use quite a few screenshots for each post. However, I don’t just use screenshots just to illustrate what I’m talking about.
I try to use screenshots to make it easier for the reader to understand the specific steps that need to be taken.

Use visual charts

Like this article, if the process with 8 steps I just listed in the form of a list, you can still remember it well, but when I put it into a specific image, you will find it easy to remember and easier to understand.

Use code to highlight content

As you can see in my articles, there are often quotes or instructions with background color. This helps a lot for content that doesn’t have images. Creating a prominent way of presenting content also makes it easier for readers to follow and have a better experience when accessing your website.

Design impressive banners and illustrations

If you can, invest a little design for your illustrations, Google loves unique images and so do users. I find that a lot of people regularly use images I designed to reuse for their website. It proves that the image is really valuable and useful, so they copied it.
An article containing eye-catching, impressive images will help readers stay on the page longer and this will help your website be better evaluated by Google.

Step 7: Optimizing Offpage SEO

After completing the content, optimizing Onpage, this is the time when you need to perform Offpage SEO campaigns such as actively promoting and building backlinks pointing to the content page that needs SEO.
In addition to the basic ways of promoting articles such as self-sharing on social networks or writing introductory articles on other blogs. You can implement one of the following Offpage strategies to optimize your website.
Find and build backlinks from competitors
You can use Ahrefs to study your competitor’s backlink profile and from there plan to get similar quality links.
Here you will see the number of domains that are linking to your competitor’s website and the total number of Backlinks they are receiving. With just one click you can see the details of each backlink and can build a link building plan based on this information.
Send an email to other websites and ask to include a link to your website
You have created a quality content, there are certainly many other articles related to yours. Prepare some emails to contact the Admins of those sites or somehow contact them. And send them an offer to link to you.
Make sure to include the content you want them to include in their old content. Because it will help them make decisions faster by simply copying and pasting the prepared content.
Find bad links on other people’s websites
There are websites with defunct links that are relevant to you, contact the webmaster and provide them with alternative content. This way you can create more good relationships and connect with them.

Step 8: Improve efficiency and maintain

Try to create content that has lasting value and delete outdated content. This helps Googlebot not have to spend time collecting data that is no longer valuable, but also helps users always find really useful information on your website.
I suggest some effective website improvement techniques you can apply
Delete posts of little value
My website previously had a directory section with more than 70 articles, but these articles had similar content and found there was a duplication of information, so I recently decided to delete this entire category and only Use 1 latest introductory article.
Correct duplicate posts
On my website, there are quite a few articles talking about the same topic, this is not effective and valuable for readers because of the dispersion of content. To overcome this situation, I will combine articles with the same information into one article and perform SEO copywriting optimization for that article.
Refresh current content
My posts have been around for a long time so a lot of the information is out of date, as soon as I discovered this I made a lot of edits. I update with newer, more useful content and remove parts that are no longer true.
